Sunday 15th September - walk ***** – Holywells Park in Ipswich –
sunny periods.
We had arranged with our son Dan plus Jay and Maeva to head over to
Holywells Park in Ipswich for a walk and picnic to celebrate Mags birthday
which is tomorrow! In the end we agreed for Dan to pick us up at 12.30, we
were going to take our van so we could visit my 94 year old Dad but he put
us off as the ironing was more important:) This gave me loads of time to do
my exercises in the sunny back garden and make lunch for all! Maeva was
pleased to see Granny and she was full of chat as we headed to Ipswich,
parking easily around one and set off along the path by the stream, now
completely covered in duck weed as is every piece of water in the park, in
fact the whole place sadly looked a bit run down with litter too:( We
stopped to feed the ducks as Jay had proper floating duck food which the
birds actually found in all the weed! We then do a circuit of the park with
its lovely old trees spotting the odd squirrel and a jay or two! Coming at
the stables where the café was full, we check out the lovely glass orangry
and down to the lake where we sit on the grass to have our yummy picnic
lunch. Grannies birthday cake was also good, we then feed the ducks again
before we all walked round to the popular childrens play area which Maeva
liked especially the baby swing on a small roundabout :) Maeva was getting
tired now so we ambled back to the car and Maeva was asleep before we
reached the end of the road! What a top day we had!
